At the end of December 2019, Ms. Berzin was selected for a three-year term as an executive committee member for the Sacramento County Bar Association Labor & Employment Law Section, commencing in January 2020. In 2021, Ms. Berzin served as Co-Chair of the section. The objectives of the section are to foster and promote camaraderie among lawyers working in the field of Labor and Employment Law, provide networking opportunities, and provide relevant continuing legal education.
As Co-Chair, Ms. Berzin furthered these objectives by helping to organize and oversee continuing legal education programming regarding updates in the law, Employment Law 101 for new attorneys, taxation of employment settlements and judgments, calculating damages in employment cases, federal enclave jurisdiction, and the basics of union organizing, the section’s Fall Mixer, and a scholarship opportunity for local law students. Ms. Berzin looks forward to continuing to serve on the committee through 2022
