As the days march closer to the Thanksgiving holiday, I am sure many of us are discouraged that we cannot gather in the ways we have grown accustomed to over the years. While this is no doubt disappointing, it is now more important than ever to use this holiday – the holiday of gratitude – to remind ourselves of the things we can be grateful for and to share that gratitude with those around us.
Reach out to your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers; share a kind thought, a cherished memory, or even perform an act of service for someone in need. This will create a sense of joy and happiness in your own life and in the life of the receiving party.
Indeed, the goodwill engendered by a simple and even singular act of gratitude has the power to effect lives beyond our immediate contemplation. With this, we leave you with a quote and wish you the very best Thanksgiving!
“To be thankful for one thing is infinitely more powerful than to be bitter about a hundred others.”
